This Privacy Policy explains the types of personal data we may collect about you when you interact with us.  It also explains how we will store and handle that data, and keep it safe. 

We hope the following information is helpful and will answer any questions you might have, if not please contact our Customer Service team by email, or call us on 0131 660 3451 8.30 am - 4 pm, Monday - Friday.  All calls to Customer Services will be charged at the local rate (BT users only, other network charges may vary), and both inbound and outbound calls may be recorded for quality monitoring and training purposes.

Payment

We accept online payment in a secure environment by credit and debit card, PayPal and Apple Pay.

All credit and debit card details are encrypted to safeguard your details and no details are saved on any website which is why the payment is processed immediately when the order is placed.

What We Collect

With your permission, we collect the information that you provide to us.  This will be in the form of an email address, name, telephone number and address information and will be collected should you sign up to our mailing list, create a customer account, or make a purchase with us.  We retain order and contact history on file securely. 

If at any point you want us to delete your email address, order history or any other information, we will do so immediately.  Every newsletter features an unsubscribe button if you wish to do so.

What Do We Do With Your Information?

We require this information to understand and meet your needs and provide you with a better service.

We use this information to allow us to confirm your order, confirm order despatch, deliver your order, confirm refund where applicable and assist you with any queries concerning your order.  We may also use this information to send you information regarding our company and products that we believe to be of interest to you, but only if you signed up for our newsletter by choice.

Security

We are 100% committed to ensuring your experience on our website is secure and safe.  For this reason, we take all the necessary physical and electronic precautions to make sure your information is not lost, stolen, misused or accessed inappropriately.

Our newsletters are sent using Mailchimp, which takes great care to protect its client and customer data, as you can see here.

We host our store with Visualsoft, an established e-commerce platform that provides the highest level of security and privacy.

8 Yards will always be fully transparent and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, we will provide the information we hold relating to you.  If you ever want to know what info we do have stored or believe our information to be incorrect, please mail office@8yards.com and we will get back to you with a copy of your customer record or make the requested changes.
